In 1971 A.D. Hong Kong film companies, four places, making films in the Amoy language turned out altogether 34 stories which were distributed and projected everywhere in Singapore, Taiwan Vietnam and other countries; which made an income for the Hong Kong movie companies not a small amount.
Last year three more movie studios
(factories) in Hong Kong made films using the Swatow language; 17 stories, most
of which were sent for showing in Thailand; which has Chinese in Thailand, using
this language amongst themselves, more than 300,000 people; and they also
received not a little popularity when sent for showing in Singapore, Malaya and
Hong Kong as well.
